does anyone believe in soulmates?
i think i do, although i have no reasoning whatsoever behind that belief.
it kind of made me sad the other day though to hear that my dad didn't believe in soulmates. he thinks there's many people for each person because most people are married, wherever they are. i think that's not because each person has many people who are right for them out there, but because God planned it that way. he put each person and their soulmate in close proximity to each other (in most cases anyways) and had them meet each other at some point.
i think it kind of made me sad just to think that there might be somebody out there better for my dad than my mom...
anyways, that's what i believe, but like i said, there's nothing behind that belief. i guess it's always seemed to be common sense? it's always the way i pictured it. any input?

I believe that God has ONE person for each one of us. He has a person picked out for us before we're even born. Our sin is what can get in the way of finding that perfect person and living with them for the rest of our lives. Therefore, I feel that God has many "second choice" people out there...God gives us choice in our lives, so He gives us several opportunities to choose a life mate.

Am I making any sense?

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

You made plenty of sense.
So the "second choices," are you referring to people we seriously date, or people with rocky marriages?

It could be either. I think that most people have rocky marriages because of their own sin in one way or another.

I believe in soul mates. I certainly don't know how to find my perfect guy, but I know he's out there somewhere. That's about all I can say on the subject.

"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accourd. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again." John 10:17-18

Those who say it can't be
done need to get out of the way of
those who are doing it.

That goes into God's perfect will and His submissive will, right?  As far as rocky marriages, ever had a rocky friendship?  I know I have, but I know that I can count on that same girl when something really matters, and I need her.  Every relationship (i think i spelled that wrong) is going to hit some bumps in the road, but if you keep God in the center, and remember sometimes you need to apologize even if it isn't your fault, but mainly keeping God in the center, it's going to last.  My best friend and I (from school) are going on 5 years, and no one thought we'd make it through year one. I believe God has a perfect spouse for me, but that's His perfect will, which I really want to be in, but I'm human, I mess up, and He has a second choice, or more than one, in His submissive will, which I guess is better than completely out of His will.
