I believe baptism is something you should do it to show everybody that you believe in God.

I agree. I don't believe that baptism is necessary, but that it is a good way to show others your decision for Christ. Also, God says that we should be baptized after we become believers so it is also the first act of obedience to God after you get saved.

Anyone else have a viewpoint? Anyone else agree?

i don't believe that baptism saves you or is necessary for being saved. it's an outward confession of an inward faith; something you do to say, "hey everyone, i'm living my life for Jesus."

So far we're all in agreement. Anyone have a different take on it?

Right on! I don't think that just because you are baptized you can freely do whatever because of being baptized.

By the way...has anyone here been baptized?

I have...twice. Once was because I thought I was a Christian, the second time was because I WAS a Christian and I wanted to show everyone that.

yep... outward expression of inward faith... that's pretty much it.

i was baptized twice, too. once when i was a baby, once about two years ago.
