I decided to do some devotionals since I had some extra time on my hands, if you don't mind Jessica.
----
At church on Wednesday night we were talking about if people see Jesus in us and in our day to day life. It made me wonder how I come off to people and how they view me. I wondered if I come across hypocritical or if I come off like a genuine Christian. I would hope for the second one. I have a mini story on this:

At school one day we were just sitting around in the classroom. It was me, my friend, Grace, a new girl, and the teacher. So my friend and I were just talking while waiting for class to start and the new girl was just watching us. We started talking to her and laughing and talking some more while waiting for class. Then our teacher said, “Coming to think of it you guys sound a lot alike. Are you two friends?” and I answered “Yes, we’re very good friends”. Finally after class was over I called out to my friend Grace in the hallway:

“Meet me by the…”

“Water fountain!” She shouted back, finishing my sentence.

“Of course!”

The new girl was staring at us. “I can’t believe it,” she said,” You guys finish each other's sentences and keep changing subjects so fast that no one can keep up with you!"

That's when it hit me: What if I knew Jesus as well as I know Grace? I thought about what it would be like to be able to finish His sentences. To think His thoughts. To laugh His laugh. To smile His smile. To cry over things He'd cry over. To care about the things He cares so much about.

And then I thought about how my teacher and the new girl sort of "saw" Grace in me, since we're so much alike. What if people "saw" Jesus when they saw me? What if I were so close to him that my life looked a lot like his?
I still have a ways to go, but I really want to build that kind of relationship—the kind that will make people stop and say, "Hey, you remind me of Jesus. You two must really be close."
It makes me think of Joy Williams’s song “Do They See Jesus In Me”:

Do they see Jesus In Me
Do they recognize Your face
Do I communicate Your love, and Your grace
Do I reflect who You are
In the way I choose to be
Do they see Jesus In Me

Wow! What a wonderful thought. That would be so amazing if people saw Jesus in us. If we as Christians would actually live up to our name as Christlike.

PS: I don't mind at all if you, or anyone else, adds to the devos. I love seeing how God is working in your lives and devotionals are a great example of that.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Wow. That's amazing. I have no friendships like that. I don't think I ever will.

But this inspires me. I hope that by the end of this school year people will be able to come up to me and say, "You're a Jesus freak, aren't you?" or something along those lines.

"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accourd. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again." John 10:17-18
