No, I get what you meant previously about the homesexuality and that you would question if they were even a Christian to begin with. I understand that. Just the fact that you said that once you become a Christian you can't ever stop being one.

You can stop being one and I just want to know why you said that.

Yah, how does someone stop being a Christian?

"The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life - only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accourd. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again." John 10:17-18

When you claim you don't know him and you rebuke him out of your life.

I don't think a true Christian would do that. Have you ever read the story of the Prodigal son? It is possible to walk away from God, but eventually you do come back...even if it is when you die and get to Heaven. If you have accepted Christ, you are a Christian for life because God changes your heart.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Actually it had happened to people. People in real life, some that I've witnessed it happening to. Some really just don't come back. The devil takes over there lives. Sure God still loves them but the feeling sure isn't mutual.

The devil can't touch us once we are in Christ. There is a Bible story about it, but I can't remember where. I will have to find it.

Also, remember Romans 8:38-39

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

NOTHING can separate us from the love of God. We cannot lose our salvation.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

The devil can too touch us. (Not to sound rude) But he can.

Here's why I say this.

Remember Job? All those misfortunes happened to him and he was a Christian a strong one too.  Most of the bad things in our lives, you think God does those? Satan does some thing to try to make us turn away from God. Though he can't see our thoughts he still can tempt us and try to tear us down.

Job was the person I was talking about. Remember, God said that Satan could try to hurt Job with emotional pains and things like that, but Satan could not physically touch Job.

Job 1:

1:9-12
"Does Job fear God for nothing?" Satan replied. 10 "Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. 11 But stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face."

12 The LORD said to Satan, "Very well, then, everything he has is in your hands, but on the man himself do not lay a finger."
Then Satan went out from the presence of the LORD. "

At the end of this chapter (1:20-22)
"At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship 21 and said:
"Naked I came from my mother's womb,
and naked I will depart. [c]
      The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away;
may the name of the LORD be praised."

22 In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing."

Satan can try all of his tricks to hurt us emotionally, but not physically. In the end, it's our choice to leave God or to worship Him for everything He has done for us. He may have gotten angry with God at some points, but he never forsake God just because of what Satan had done.

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight,O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

I agree. If G-d gives us free choice, then He gives us the choice to leave Him after we've become Christians. But I don't really see why someone would want to do that.

So you're saying if someone has "become a Christian," even if they go and do the horriblest things in the world that God would NOT approve of, they're still Christians? And if God says gay is wrong, you're saying if they are christians then "become gay", they are still Christians? I don't believe that, cause God says gay is wrong.

Hey Kiersten, no matter WHAT we do God will still love us. There is only one sin sometimes called the unforgiveable sin. Thats the sin that if we commit we will be in dark light with God. Anyway to clear that out no matter what we do God still loves us. He is a loving God.

God also says that it is wrong to eat meat or to be touched while you are on your period. Does that mean that you aren't a Christian if you do these things. Of course not. As I have said before, when someone commits a "lifestyle sin" (which is a sin that is due to a lifestyle choice such as homosexuality, murder, thievery, etc.), I would ask them to reconsider whether they truly were a Christian in the first place...but if they were, they still are.

And some denominations (such as mine) say that its not right to eat meat. They don't condemn those who eat meat, they just simply follow what the God has said. I eat meat yet the church I go to teaches us its wrong. Lots of things at my church they teach are wrong but I don't agree with some of it. We cannot keep all the commandments on our own. We are all sinners by birth. It doesn't make us less a Christian.

Of course, we MUST ask for forgiveness in order to be clean again.

Repentance is the key to the Christian life. We will always sin, we're born with a sin nature.

When we truly repent and let God be the Lord of our life, we won't want to fool with things like porn and homosexuality... But even if we don't let God clean us up, He still sees us as if we are perfectly spotless if we are His children.
